Our client is looking for a Project Engineer to start ASAP in Somerset. This is a 10 month project paying between £560 and £730 per day, depending on experience. The working week is Monday to Friday from 07:30hrs to 17:00hrs. You will be based on site.
Project Details and Duration:
* The project is a substation next to a much larger project run by a company called Gravity, which includes a large data centre and a battery EV battery factory.
* The substation is a 400/132 KV substation.
* The team has just mobilized the site.
* Work currently involves getting the 'danties' in place for overhead lighting connections, followed by civils work.
* The project is due to run until 2029.
* The contract will hopefully start in March and will run until the end of December of this year.
* The speaker suggested starting with a six-month contract with the possibility of an extension. The company is trying to recruit for a permanent position.
Role and Responsibilities:
* The role is for a Power Project Engineer.
* The work currently is heavy civil work, and the role is "a little bit of everything".
* Once the work begins, it will be a typical Project Engineer role.
* The ideal candidate should be able to coordinate across the project, look at two or three work packages, and see the bigger picture—almost thinking like an assistant Project Manager.
* The need for this extra person is due to gaps in the team, specifically a struggle to find candidates with the necessary qualifications and experience.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
* Must have experience in working on substations.
* Specific desired qualifications are:
* Earthing Control Person (ECP).
* Earthing Application Person (EAP).
* LVAP.
* The candidate does not need to have worked directly for National Grid, but they need to have worked on National Grid projects and built up those qualifications.
If you are interested in this role, please apply online or call Coyles on (phone number removed).
We look forward to hearing from you
