An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our multi-discipline medical team within our CQC-rated "Good" Hospital in Bristol. You will be a highly valued member of our team bringing your expertise and skills in non-Obstetric Gynaecology procedures.
About the Role
As a Practice Plus Group Consultant you will have access to great facilities in a well‑structured and relaxed environment. We offer high quality day case and inpatient treatments in a wide range of specialties and deliver excellent clinical care. Reporting to the Hospital Medical Director, you will manage and lead a multi‑professional team and perform a range of non‑Obstetric Gynaecological procedures; extensive laparoscopic experience is essential for this role. You will be treating both NHS and private patients referred to the Hospital, working in accordance with hospital protocols and working practices. This will include providing in and out‑patient care for patients with common gynaecological problems such as menstrual disorders and urogynaecological symptoms. As a UK registered medical professional, with a listing on the Specialist GMC register, your commitment to the highest standards of care will match ours.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Perform minor/intermediate procedures of the vagina, cervix, uterus and fallopian tubes such as hysteroscopy, endometrial sampling, endometrial ablations, laparoscopy, tubal sterilisations, insertion/removal of MIRENAs.
* Perform major procedures including vaginal hysterectomy, colporrhaphy, abdominal hysterectomy, fascial sling.
* Manage endometriosis (skills in total laparoscopic hysterectomy, laparoscopic assisted vaginal hysterectomy, laparoscopic excision of endometriosis, hysteroscopic resection of fibroids are advantageous).
Qualifications
* UK registerable medical degree.
* MRCOG or appropriate specialist qualification.
* Relevant CCT or equivalent.
* Past record of academic achievement.
* Full and Specialist GMC registration in relevant speciality.
