An ambitious and design-driven Project Architect is required to join a forward-thinking, award-winning architectural practice based in Harrogate, offering a clear pathway toward Senior and Associate-level progression.
This established Chartered practice delivers high-profile, large-scale schemes across the commercial, retail, logistics, and residential sectors, with project values often exceeding £100m. The Role
This is an ideal opportunity for a Project Architect ready to take the next step—someone who is confident running projects but is now looking to expand their influence, leadership, and strategic involvement within a growing practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Taking ownership of projects across all RIBA stages (0–7)
Leading client relationships, brief development, and design coordination
Managing project programmes, resources, and delivery outputs
Preparing and overseeing planning applications and design proposals
Producing and reviewing technical drawing packages and specifications
Coordinating multidisciplinary teams, consultants, and contractors
Leading site meetings and ensuring design quality through to completion
Supporting Directors in project strategy and contributing to business development
Mentoring junior team members and contributing to team growth
About You
We’re looking for a well-rounded Project Architect who combines strong design sensibility with technical expertise and is motivated to step into a more senior, leadership-focused role.
Essential Skills & Experience:
ARB registered Architect with strong post-Part III experience
Proven track record of project running and delivery on site
Experience across multiple RIBA stages, particularly 3–7
Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations and construction detailing
Proficiency in Revit and a solid understanding of BIM workflows
Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and tight deadlines
Strong communication, leadership, and organisational abilities
Desirable:
Experience on large-scale commercial, logistics, retail, or residential projects
Knowledge of NBS Create
Understanding of Principal Designer (CDM) responsibilities
Experience mentoring or supervising junior staff
