The opportunity:
The purpose of this role is to drive and assist the SEO Site Manager with the day to day management and optimisation of the SEO channel. Working closely with the wider digital marketing team, you will be responsible for building and optimising our organic performance for Sports Direct.
The responsibility:
* Make and implement recommendations to improve SEO channel performance and rankings
* Recommend changes to website architecture, content, internal linking and other factors to improve SEO rankings for target keywords
* Work with the content writer to drive SEO in content creation to optimise copy on category pages and landing pages, as well as to produce blogs, FAQ pages and buying guides
* Use tools such as Botify and Screaming Frog to identify issues that can cause a negative impact in SERP. Perform in-depth technical SEO audits as well as rectifying any issues
* Use tools like Pi Datametrics and SEMRush for insights and highlight opportunities to improve performance
* Assist with link building strategies and perform backlink link audits
Skills and Experience Required:
* Hands on experience in an SEO-focused role (in house or agency)
* Experience with keyword research and strategy, daily optimisation and in-depth analysis
* Ability to confidently report on key performance metrics to managers
* Ability to work to tight deadlines and respond to high priority requests
* Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
* Ability to self-manage and keep track of multiple projects
* Genuine passion for SEO and online marketing
* Experience with content marketing and social campaigns
