Available Roles Weekend Cook £14.35 per hour (reviewed annually) Weekend enhancements paid Permanent contract 20 hours per week Saturday & Sunday shifts About the Cook Role This role is ideal for someone who enjoys preparing simple, nutritious, home-style meals in a calm and supportive environment. You will prepare freshly cooked meals that support residents’ wellbeing while helping create enjoyable mealtimes throughout the home. Cook Responsibilities Prepare and cook breakfasts, lunches, and light evening meals Provide two lunch options plus desserts Bake cakes for birthdays and special occasions Cater for both residents and staff Support residents’ dietary and nutritional needs Maintain high food hygiene and kitchen standards Help create a warm and positive dining experience Kitchen Assistant £13.45 per hour Weekend enhancements paid Permanent contract 31.5 hours per week About the Kitchen Assistant Role As a Kitchen Assistant, you will support the smooth running of the kitchen while helping prepare nutritious meals for residents and staff. Previous experience is helpful but not essential - what matters most is a positive attitude, reliability, and a genuine passion for supporting older people. Kitchen Assistant Responsibilities Assist with basic food preparation and meal service Support residents’ dietary requirements, including modified diets Wash dishes and clean kitchen equipment Maintain excellent kitchen cleanliness and hygiene Assist with deliveries and stock storage Follow food safety, health & safety, and infection control procedures Work positively as part of a caring and supportive team Why Join Patcham Nursing Home?
