Field Service Engineer - Compactors and Baler s We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team. Based from home, you will cover the South-East of England. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing on-site support, installation, and maintenance of compactors and balers on Customer sites. The individual is therefore also directly responsible for maintaining a professional and competent image of both self and the Company as well as carrying out the Field Service tasks efficiently and effectively. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in various environments. We will provide you with everything you need including a van, fuel card, laptop, mobile phone, tools, PPE, plus product and H&S training. You will most usually be working Monday to Friday over a 47.5 hour week, door to door. The need to do weekend / overnight working (for which overtime is paid) and / or stay away from home is very rare. Responsibilities Successfully deliver technical services such as repairs, preventative maintenance services, site surveys, training, installations and courtesy visits. Fault find and repair electrical, mechanical and hydraulic equipment and train Customer staff in the safe operation of waste balers and compactors. Ensure that all equipment supplied by ourselves is safely installed, maintained and repaired to the highest standards in accordance with company guidelines, so that the quality of service received by customers is second to none. Provide us with detailed and accurate estimates for breakdown and remedial repairs, detailing parts, labour and resources required to complete the necessary work. Liaise with site staff during each visit to ensure that their expectations are fully met and each problem has been resolved to the customers satisfaction. Personal Profile: Ideally you will be an experienced Field Service Engineer, plant fitter or have worked in a similar role within the engineering sector A good standard of education to a minimum of GCSE level (inc. Maths and English) / City and Guilds Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills Able to work well on own initiative, remaining calm under pressure and be able to demonstrate an organised and methodical approach to work. Organised and professional with sound analytical skills Ability to work independently and manage time effectively while prioritising tasks. Hard working and loyal Good customer facing skills A full UK driving licence is essential for this role Key experience: Previous experience of repairing and servicing equipment, with a sound mechanical, and electrical maintenance background. Welding experience and a sound knowledge of hydraulics. Diagnostic ability to identify and rectify equipment faults.
