Overview of the Role
We have opportunities for experienced electrical, instrumentation, control and automation (EICA) engineers for our multidisciplinary Water Division, the centre of excellence within Mott MacDonald for everything to do with water. We work on a vast range of design projects covering, for example:
* Water treatment
* Water distribution
* Wastewater recycling
* Industrial process water
* Desalination
* Irrigation
* Hydropower
* Flood defence
We cover all phases of the project lifecycle from feasibility studies through detailed design, construction support, and commissioning to handover.
Responsibilities
* Electrical power distribution design
* Control system design
* Specifying local renewable and backup generation systems
* Developing plant layouts
* Cabling and installation design
* Instrumentation selection
* Lightning protection assessments
* Writing system control strategies
* Factory and site acceptance tests of equipment
Candidate Specification
Essential
* Qualified to HND level or higher in electrical, electronic or control engineering, or a related discipline
* Experience in electrical and/or control engineering design and consultancy
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
* Understanding of the importance of prioritising health, safety, and environmental issues
Desirable
* Master’s degree in electrical, electronic or control engineering or a related discipline
* Chartered status with the Institution of Engineering and Technology or an equivalent body
* Experience of working in the water and/or wastewater industry
* Good understanding of pipeline hydraulics
* Good understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes
