Location: Roxburghe House, Aberdeen. Part‑time (7 PA) post. May involve providing medical support to the Hospital Specialist Palliative Care Team at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
About the service: Roxburghe House is the regional specialist Palliative Care unit providing inpatient, outpatient and domiciliary services and education for health and social care professionals across Grampian, Orkney, Shetland and the Western Isles.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide specialist Palliative Medicine clinical care in inpatient, outpatient and domiciliary settings.
* Support the Hospital Specialist Palliative Care Team at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
* Deliver education and training to a wide range of health and social care professionals at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
* Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and service quality improvement activities.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC is required (licence must be in place prior to starting).
* Evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT in Palliative Medicine or be within 6 months of confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register.
* CESR or Portfolio Pathway specialist registration must be awarded to qualify for a substantive Consultant post.
* International Recognised Specialist Qualification approved by the GMC is acceptable if entry on the GMC Specialist Register is confirmed.
* Locum Consultant appointments are available for up to 12 months for doctors not listed on the GMC Specialist Register, with the option to undertake CESR or Portfolio Pathway registration during locum employment.
