Healthcare Assistant - Care of the Elderly - Ward 41
Band 2 - Permanent contract - various hours available
We are looking for enthusiastic and empathetic Healthcare Assistants to join our multidisciplinary team and help us deliver compassionate, person-centred care to older adults, including those living with dementia, in the Care of the Elderly wards at Tameside Hospital.

What You’ll Do
* Provide hands-on personal care and emotional support to elderly patients, including those living with dementia
* Assist with daily activities such as washing, dressing, eating, and mobility
* Engage patients in meaningful conversation and activities to promote wellbeing
Main duties
* Work within the ward/department, providing high quality, caring, personal care to patients and their families/carers
* Work under the direction of Registered Healthcare Professionals and senior colleagues, both independently and as part of the multidisciplinary team
* Ensure a high standard of service provision, practicing effective clinical and administrative preparation, effective communication and care delivery, prioritising workload, and contributing to service improvements
* Participate in giving compassionate high quality personal care to patients, prioritising appropriately and developing competencies that safeguard practice
* Act with respect for privacy, dignity, equality, diversity, and confidentiality
Qualifications and Experience
* Essential – Personal support worker caring experience (work or personal) and ability to communicate clearly in writing
* Essential – Ability to work with diverse teams
* Desirable – Healthcare experience in a ward or clinical environment
* Essential – NVQ Level 2 in Healthcare or equivalent qualification or working towards
* Essential – Reliability and willingness to learn/undertake training
