MAINTENANCE ENGINEER
COMPANY OVERVIEW
Our client is a renowned nationwide leader in the construction and facilities management industry. Established in 1994, they have grown significantly and secured multiple blue-chip contracts due to their outstanding reputation.
Due to continued growth, they are now looking for a maintenance builder to cover a static site in Glasgow
JOB PURPOSE
The Maintenance Engineer will play a key role in supporting the smooth operation of a static site in Glasgow by delivering a high standard of reactive and planned maintenance. The successful candidate will carry out a variety of building fabric repairs, including slabbing, roofing, joinery, and basic plumbing, ensuring the centre remains safe, functional, and visually presentable for both tenants and visitors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Undertake a range of slabbing repairs, including pathways, curbing, and paved areas within public and service zones.
Perform roofing repairs, clearing gutters, patching membranes, and fixing leaks.
Deliver joinery tasks, including door adjustments, timber repairs, and minor carpentry works within retail and back-of-house areas.
Carry out basic plumbing, such as fixing leaks, replacing fixtures, and maintaining waste and supply pipework.
Support preventative maintenance routines in coordination with the Maintenance Manager.
Respond promptly and professionally to reactive maintenance calls, recording work undertaken and materials used.
Operate safely at height using appropriate access equipment and in accordance with safety procedures.
Liaise with contractors, tenants, and centre management teams where required to complete works safely and efficiently.
Maintain tools, equipment, and working areas to a high standard of cleanliness and order.
Comply with all relevant health and safety legislation, risk assessments, and method statements.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
Proven multi-trade experience in building repairs and maintenance.
Skilled in at least two of the following: slabbing/groundworks, roofing, carpentry/joinery, or plumbing.
Good understanding of site safety and safe working practices, particularly in public environments.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage workload effectively.
Flexible and willing to respond to occasional out-of-hours maintenance or emergency call-outs.
Must work one weekend and one backshift in four,
Standard hours are 07.00 till 15.30.
Backshift is 13.00 till 21.30.
Must participate in the on-call Rota TBC.
Good communication skills and a professional, courteous manner.
Desirable:
NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in a relevant trade.
CSCS card or health & safety training certification.
Full UK Driving Licence (if inter-site travel is required).
Previous experience working in a retail or commercial property environment.

Salary of up to £35,600 Doe
