We are looking for: An Operational Risk and Internal Control Officer to work within the Operational Risk and Internal Control team in Northwich and this role will report to the Deputy Head of Operational Risk and Internal Control. Your day-to-day responsibilities: The role requires in depth knowledge of the specialist area. Your duties will include: Reconciling accounts and investigating any outstanding items Undertaking risk event investigations and managing any rectifying actions including process and control enhancements, through to completion Have an awareness of the Bank’s top ten risks, such as Conduct Risk, Reputational Risk and Cyber Risk Identifying emerging risks and ensuring these are assessed and mitigated, enabling the Bank to remain proactive Providing risk management support and guidance to the business Managing documentation of risk processes and procedures Undertake a range of procedures which may be complex and will vary in nature, working on own initiative. Answer queries which are non-routine in nature, providing advice and guidance to others. Compose / draft correspondence, varying tone and style to various audiences. Familiarity with office technology making special use of software facilities to facilitate the production of complex reports/data. Plan, organise and prioritise own workloads and where appropriate support colleagues. Compile and process management information. Delivery of specific projects within set parameters. Provide a point of reference to others on own specialisms and handling, complex issues. Compile and process management information and reports. Responsible for implementing the internal control activity and procedures as laid down. Identify and report emerging areas of risk and control failures or gaps. Person/Experience required Someone who goes above normal duties to encourage a team spirit and productivity. A keen eye for detail and accurate and timely data inputting/authorisation and always meet their target Someone with knowledge of Banking operations would be desirable’ Fostered reliability and an environment of team work. The ability to work under your own initiative and to strict deadlines across a variety of different business areas while delivering excellence as part of multi-functional team. Ability to work and communicate effectively with all other areas of the Bank. Problem solving and excellent analytical skills are essential and you will be resilient and flexible individual who remains calm under pressure.
