A welcoming school in the Derby area is looking for a dedicated Science Teacher with a Biology specialism to join their supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher to deliver engaging lessons that spark curiosity and help students achieve their full potential.
As a Science Teacher, your responsibilities will include:
* Teach Biology across key stages, with the potential to support wider science where needed.
* Plan and deliver creative, challenging, and well-structured lessons.
* Assess, track, and monitor pupil progress, providing tailored feedback to support achievement.
* Create a positive classroom environment that encourages participation and respect.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities.
* Always uphold safeguarding responsibilities.
Requirements for Science Teacher:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
* Specialism in Biology, with solid subject knowledge across the science curriculum.
* Previous teaching experience in a school setting.
* Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
* Strong communication and organisational abilities.
* A genuine passion for inspiring students in science.
* An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
* A full CV covering the last 10 years of employment, with explanations for any gaps.
