We’re looking for a dynamic Chef Manager to head up our team at a prestigious site where high-level clients are regular guests. You’ll have autonomy to plan and deliver menus, inspire your team, and manage all aspects of kitchen operations while working Monday to Friday – no evenings or weekends.
Key Responsibilities
* Full responsibility for menu planning and food production – breakfast, lunch, and hospitality
* Create weekly menus using Compass’ Source platform and manage all stock ordering and supplier processes
* Build and maintain strong relationships with senior-level clients, delivering consistently high service
* Lead, coach, and manage the on-site catering team to achieve performance and service goals
* Ensure compliance in all areas: HR processes, HSE (Health & Safety), Profit Protection, PCI, Food Safety, GP (target 40%)
* Monitor and control stock, wastage, labour costs, and Did We Make You Smile (DWMYS) 10% monthly target
* Take ownership of weekly Nexus accounts, stock takes, and compliance reporting
* Drive the food and customer service offer forward – raise the bar in line with Compass and client expectations
* Ensure everyday HSE standards are not only met but exceeded
Ideal Candidate & Experience
* A hands-on Chef Manager with strong culinary skills and kitchen leadership experience
* Background in B&I contract catering with a proven track record of achieving gross profit targets
* Confident in building relationships at all levels, especially with senior corporate clients
* Deep understanding of HACCP, Food Safety, Health & Safety, Natasha’s Law, Allergens, and Manual Handling
* Experience managing stock, wastage, and ordering systems
* Able to motivate, lead, and develop a team while staying calm under pressure
* Tech-savvy – confident using systems like Nexus and Source for menu planning and compliance
