Job Title: Programme Administrator
Location: Harwell, Didcot (1 day per week on-site, with potential to increase to 2 days)
Pay: £12-13 per hour
Contract Type: Part-time (with potential for more hours following training)
Overview:
We are looking for a proactive and well-organised Programme Administrator to support the delivery of environmental and energy-focused initiatives. These programmes include grant schemes, innovation projects, business support services, and evidence-gathering activities - all aimed at accelerating progress toward environmental improvement and Net Zero goals.
You will be joining a collaborative team delivering UK Government-funded programmes designed to drive sustainable growth. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with experience in programme or project coordination who is passionate about making a meaningful environmental impact.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the development and delivery of environmental and energy-related programmes, including proposal writing and costing.
* Assist in day-to-day coordination, ensuring projects stay on schedule and within budget.
* Maintain and manage internal QA processes and project documentation.
* Help coordinate subcontractor work and liaise with internal teams to ensure smooth delivery.
* Act as a point of contact for clients, providing updates and supporting delivery of reports and documentation.
* Collaborate closely with programme managers, administrators, and technical teams.
* Gather and respond to client feedback to support continuous improvement.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Experience in project or programme administration, ideally within or in collaboration with central government.
* Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Proven track record supporting projects that delivered on time and within budget.
* Confident working with senior stakeholders and large, multidisciplinary teams.
* A collaborative team player who builds strong internal relationships.
* Able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment across several projects.
* Comfortable with internal processes and eager to contribute ideas for improvement.
* Willing to support across a range of coordination and admin tasks.
Desirable:
* A recognised project management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2 or equivalent).
* Experience working on low-carbon, decarbonisation, or environmental programmes.
