Kingswell Surgery is looking for an experienced, reliable, enthusiastic, and motivated Mental Health Nurse to join our existing nursing team on a part-time basis for two days per week (to be negotiated). We are seeking a nurse who is passionate about providing excellent patient care and dedicated to improving health outcomes within our community.
Main duties of the job
The ideal candidate will be a registered nurse, with experience in Mental Health. They will work alongside our current Nursing Team, providing high-quality care while acting within their professional boundaries. This role includes screening, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care, ensuring safe clinical decision-making and expert patient support.

The Mental Health Nurse will work closely with GPs and other healthcare professionals, fostering a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.

Kingswell Surgery is a friendly, well-led, GP Training Practice with its own dispensary, caring for approximately 5500 patients in the heart of rural Penistone. We are committed to providing a high standard of clinical care and an excellent service to patients. Our clinical team is made up as follows: 3 GP Partners, 2 salaried GPs, 2 Practice Nurses, 2 HCAs. Our Admin team comprises of: Practice Manager, Assistant Manager, 5 Administrators/Receptionists and 3 dispensers. We also have a number of staff in other funded roles who work at the practice, such as a care coordinator, health and wellbeing coach, clinical pharmacist etc.
Job responsibilities
As a Mental Health Nurse, you will be a key part of the Practice's clinical team, providing and maintaining a high standard of nursing care for our patient population. You will work within the scope of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code of Professional Conduct, ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate care.
This is a new role and is expected to develop over time, so it is very much open to discussion with the right candidate.
