About the Role
We are currently recruiting a Yard Operative, Counterbalance to join our Warehouse team. This is a hands-on role responsible for the safe and efficient loading and unloading of vehicles, ensuring stock integrity, compliance, and adherence to health & safety and GDP requirements.
You will work closely with Stock Control, Logistics, Operations, Goods Out, Packing, and Quality & Compliance teams, as well as external haulage partners, to ensure smooth yard operations and on-time vehicle movements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Safely load and unload delivery vehicles in line with goods in and goods out schedules.
2. Check department systems to monitor arriving vehicles and ensure timely processing, avoiding vehicle delays or pull-outs.
3. Ensure all pallets are correctly wrapped and secure to prevent damage during transit, encouraging drivers to strap loads where applicable.
4. Follow load sheets accurately, ensuring the correct number of pallets are loaded onto the correct vehicle.
5. Identify and report damaged or contaminated products promptly to prevent cross-contamination.
6. Carry out general warehouse duties as required.
7. Adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
8. Operate counterbalance and other handling equipment safely and in compliance with all regulations.
9. Complete and record daily truck safety checks.
10. Clean trucks regularly in line with the agreed cleaning schedule.
11. Maintain a high standard of health & safety at all times.

Skills & Experience
19. Previous experience working in a busy warehouse or yard environment.
20. Good numerical skills with strong attention to detail.
21. Ability to follow processes and work accurately under time pressure.
22. Strong awareness of health & safety requirements.
Qualifications (Essential)
23. Valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence
