Job Description:
Your new organisation: We are recruiting for a Communications and Engagement Officer for Birmingham City Council on a 6-month contract basis, starting as soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about internal communications and marketing, and confident in contributing to organisational effectiveness and talent development.
Your new role: In this Communications and Engagement role, you will join the Oracle team within the People Service division. You will report to the Engagement and Communications Lead. This role focuses on providing advice and information within the Organisation Effectiveness Centre of Excellence team to develop and deliver employee engagement and communication solutions, positively contributing to the council’s, directorates', and People Service's strategic goals.
You will also support the development and operational delivery of the Engagement and Communications Strategy, which aims to increase employee engagement and work satisfaction, enabling the council to achieve higher performance and productivity, and to enhance its employer value proposition (EVP), positioning it as an employer of choice. You will work to deliver high standards with a focus on continuous improvement to support the delivery of key performance indicators for the Organisation Effectiveness & Talent department.
What you'll need to succeed: You should have significant experience in a communications and engagement role, particularly within workforce engagement in large organisations. You must be available to start immediately and able to visit their Birmingham office as required.
What you will get in return: This role is Monday – Friday, initially for 6 months, with a high likelihood of extension to 1 year. The role offers a daily rate of up to £400, paid weekly.
