My client, a market leading MEP and Sustainability Consultancy based in St Albans is searching for an Electrical Design Engineer to join their team. This is a hybrid role, offering varied residential, commercial and industrial projects. As an Electrical Design Engineer you will join a bespoke team based in St Albans. You will be trained and supported by an experienced team and have the chance to work on major residential, commercial, healthcare, leisure and retail schemes including high rise accommodation across the UK. As an Electrical Design Engineer you will be expected to complete detailed electrical designs using AutoCAD, Dialux and Amtech. You will also assist with mechanical designs. You will also be supported to complete; -Survey, tests and reports on existing installations. -Detailed designs of electrical systems and cabling for buildings. -Lighting calculations and Cable calculations - Part L Compliance checking. -Engineering calculations using Amtech, Dialux and Relux. -Preparing tender specifications and drawings for projects. - Design and specification of renewable technologies - Liaison with utility companies for new and diversion of existing services -Site inspections and attend technical meetings with designers, architects, structural engineers and contractors on site. - Manage projects when needed. As an Electrical Engineer you are required to have a HNC/HND/BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering and have experience working for UK based Consultancy completing detailed electrical designs for buildings and commercial developments using Amtech, Dialux or AutoCAD or an equivalent software. You are also required to have a detailed knowledge of BS7671 (wiring regulations) and other relevant codes and BREEAM. Candidates are required to have a valid UK driving licence to visit sites.
