ROLE: Utilities Technician - Elec Bias
HOURS: 40 hours (Day & Night)

We're looking for a Multiskilled Shift Engineer who will support a highly regulated pharmaceutical site through expert maintenance, fault finding, and continuous operational support.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Pro-active and reactive maintenance, fault finding, and repair of a wide range of building services and critical plant equipment on a highly regulated pharmaceutical site.
2. Performing planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, and electrical fault diagnosis on systems including power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, system panels, and Building Management Systems (BMS).
3. Carrying out mechanical maintenance and repairs on HVAC systems, pumps, motors, compressed air systems, and water treatment plant.
4. Maintaining and troubleshooting general building services including plumbing, drainage, and building systems.
5. Ensuring all work complies with relevant regulations, safety standards, and site procedures while maintaining accurate maintenance records and documentation.
6. Working as part of a shift team, responding to breakdowns to ensure continuity of site operations.
7. Communicating effectively with site teams, client representatives, and stakeholders regarding maintenance activities.
8. Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement to enhance plant and equipment reliability.
9. Adhering to all health and safety policies, ensuring a safe working environment.
10. Escalating complex issues to specialist teams or management as required.
Required Qualifications:
Applicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role.
11. Recognised electrical apprenticeship or relevant electrical qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation).
12. Proven experience as a Multiskilled Shift Engineer or Electrical Maintenance Engineer within a commercial or industrial environment.
13. Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
14. Good understanding of mechanical systems and building services.
15. Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
16. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and within a team.
17. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
18. A proactive, can‑do attitude with strong focus on quality and attention to detail.
19. Willingness to work a rotating shift pattern (days and nights).
Desirable:
20. Experience in pharmaceutical or other highly regulated environments (e.g., food, healthcare).
21. Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice).
22. Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS).
23. 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations.
24. First Aid qualification.
