The Role
Fords has a new position for a multi-skilled Electro-Mechanical Technician, with both mechanical/electrical skills, to join our growing Production Team.
Key Duties and Skills
Carry out set up, testing and commissioning of machines for pre-delivery factory acceptance tests (FAT)
Mechanical fitting of bespoke machinery
Ability to assemble from Technical/Engineering drawings
Understanding of Pneumatics and automation systems
Installation of Motors, Gearboxes, Belts, Bearings, complex assemblies etc
Use of various hand and power tools
Use of machine tools
Understanding and application of Health and Safety regulations
Use of IT systems and word processing
Support the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensuring best practice and consistency across the team.
Support validation activities, aligning production with compliance and quality requirements.
Assist in fault finding and diagnosis of mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues during build and test phases, ensuring rapid resolution and minimal delays.
Assist with training and mentoring Mechanical Fitters in fitting techniques, safety practices, and build quality expectations.
Essential
3-5 years Mechanical Fitting experience, post qualification
Mechanical fitting experience with bespoke machinery
Experience setting up, testing and commissioning machines for pre-delivery
Engineering qualifications / Apprenticeship served
Machining skills; such as turning and milling
Competent IT skills
Desirable
PLC and Automation experience
Forklift Driving Experience
Working at Height
Supervisory or training experience
