Central Alliance, part of the RSK Group, is seeking an experienced Geo-Environmental Engineer to join our growing team in Wakefield, UK. The role is largely site-based, outdoors, with travel across the UK, including overnight stays. It offers a full-time, permanent position.
Accountabilities include:
1. Supervision and management of ground investigations
2. Travel throughout the UK (80%), with remaining time based at Wakefield Office (20%)
3. Logging soil and rock in accordance with BS5930:2020
4. Managing ground investigation works, including pricing, liaising with suppliers, and health and safety documentation
5. On-site safety management, paperwork, and subcontractor oversight
6. Adherence to work instructions from clients
7. Factual reporting, data processing, and management
8. Completing Desk Based Studies
9. Assisting senior staff with project duties
10. Managing department equipment
11. Attending relevant training courses (e.g., PTS, NRASWA, CCNSG, etc.)
12. Following SHEQ policies and procedures
13. Maintaining ground investigation equipment
About You: We seek collaborative individuals who can share ideas, challenge the status quo, and contribute to our inclusive culture. To be considered, you should have:
* BSc in Geology, Earth Sciences, Geology / Geography
* Experience supervising ground investigation contracts
* Knowledge of Construction, Design & Management regulations and safety documentation
* Strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement
* People management experience
* Flexibility and adaptability
* Self-motivation, organization, and positive attitude
* Ability to work independently and in teams
* Excellent communication skills
* Willingness to work flexible hours and travel within the UK
* Valid UK manual driving license
* Legal right to work in the UK
