An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join the Outpatients nursing team at Yeovil District Hospital NHS Foundation Trust Hospital
We are looking for individuals who are eager to learn, have a kind and caring attitude towards patients, families and colleagues and who will be positive team members. The roles will involve working to run clinics along with the doctors, assisting with procedures, giving medications, applying dressings, ensuring documentation is completed, and performing observations on selected patient groups
The Main Outpatients department offers a friendly, supportive, innovative and progressive environment where you will be encouraged to develop your advanced clinical skills and competencies
The post is for 33 hours per week (this is negotiable)
The Main Outpatient service covers five days per week, Monday to Friday
The successful candidate will be supported by experienced senior staff and will have the opportunity to develop both clinically and professionally, with further training in house to develop your skills and knowledge around our multiple and varied outpatient clinics

Main duties, tasks & skills required
To provide and maintain a high standard of evidence based, patient centred care.
To demonstrate good interpersonal skills and to develop practical skills required within the speciality, whist reflecting the philosophy of care.
To deliver patient care on a daily basis, using the systems in place in the department for a multi-disciplinary approach to patient-centred care delivery, which builds on the philosophy of greater involvement of patients and their relatives/carers by using the Trusts patient and public involvement strategy.
Experienced Band 5 post holders will also provide effective clinical and managerial leadership of the department, in the absence of the senior members of the team, which empowers staff to deliver patient- centred, evidence based nursing care.
