Responsibilities
* The primary duty of the Project Engineer is to take responsibility for contracts from the receipt of order and handover through to successful install and handover, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to required quality standards.
* Maintain close communication with clients and coordinate with internal departments to keep everyone informed about project details and timelines. Be the main point of contact for the customer throughout the project lifecycle.
* Review the contract before the technical handover meeting to identify conflicts with quotations, drawings, and customer specifications, and assess project risks.
* Agree on a project schedule with relevant managers that aligns with the customer's timeline and ensures key dates are met.
* Request design requirements from the design office manager, monitor designs and materials ordering, and obtain customer approval on layout drawings / site-specific details before proceeding.
* Pre-order items with long lead times and ensure financial milestones are met.
* Provide the Electrical Department with necessary details and time for control systems to be produced (if required for the project).
* When software is required, confirm specific details during the software technical handover and ensure the software is fully written and tested with the control panel before delivery.
* Maintain a list of deviations from the contract using a technical query system, collaborate with the Sales Engineer on variations, and log any payment or installation delays.
* Address queries from factory and design teams to avoid delays and ensure on-site communication among all parties; document completed/installed equipment for internal records and marketing.
* Coordinate with production to adhere to the agreed timeline and organise internal equipment testing and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) as required.
* Invite customers for equipment inspections, arrange delivery, and prepare all necessary manuals and documentation before handover.
* Plan and manage the installation process, including subcontractor coordination, and provide installation and commissioning teams with required documents (including RAMS and log templates).
* Liaise with the commissioning team to ensure the equipment is tested and handed over to the client as required by the contract.
* Ensure handover documents are completed and stored within one week of project completion (e.g., training logs, completion certificate & customer-specific SAT documents).
* Offer a technical backup service for the life of the equipment.

Employment details
* 37 hours per week
* Core hours: Monday to Thursday 8:30am – 5:00pm, Friday 8:30am – 2:00pm
* Salary Range dependent on experience (£40,000-£50,000)
* Paid overtime

Note: This is an office-based role but will require visits to customer sites. This role may involve work in the UK or overseas as necessary.
