We are looking for a confident, enthusiastic, and motivated Band 5 Midwife to join our maternity team at Torbay Hospital, where we care for approximately 1,900 women and birthing people annually.
The role involves rotation between the antenatal/postnatal ward and labour ward. Flexibility is essential, as the successful candidate will work shifts including weekends, bank holidays, and nights to meet service needs.
We offer a supportive and comprehensive preceptorship package for newly qualified midwives within our friendly unit. Our current preceptees benefit from the support of our Midwifery Practice Education Facilitator, available throughout the preceptorship.

* Ensure privacy and dignity for birthing people and their babies.

* Provide continuous care during pregnancy for women admitted to the maternity unit.
* Maintain communication with preceptor and Practice Education Facilitator for personal and professional development.
* Complete a formal preceptorship framework within the designated period.
* Organize clinical workload efficiently.
* Attend annual mandatory training as required.
* Contribute feedback to improve responsiveness of the health and social care setting, advocating for disadvantaged individuals.
