We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our integrated mental health team at HMP Askham Grange. HMP Askham Grange is an open category D female prison located in Askham Richard, near York, housing around 120 women. You will join an established and experienced team supporting women aged 18 and above. The site also includes a mother and baby unit. This role involves a low volume of patients requiring Psychiatrist support, enabling you to provide consistent and high-quality patient care.
Hours
1 day per month / 8 hours, to be worked between Monday-Friday, 8.30 am - 4.30 pm.
Salary
This part-time role offers an annual salary up to £189,900 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

* Be part of a team of 15+ experienced and supportive Consultant psychiatrists.
* Attend monthly Consultant meetings and 1:1 clinical supervision.
* Receive bespoke induction, including our Introducing Health in Justice training course.
* Work within a competency framework.

What you'll be doing:
As a Consultant Psychiatrist, your responsibilities will include:
* Providing excellent clinical care, assessment, and treatment to patients on your caseload onsite.
* Participating in the strategic direction of the mental health service, leading senior mental health clinicians on service developments, and providing clinical supervision.
* Working within a multidisciplinary team to review referrals, determine appropriate treatment plans, conduct risk assessments, and engage in complex case reviews.

Qualifications required:
* Registered professional with current GMC registration.
* Specialist Registration in General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry, approved under section 12(2) of the MHS 1983.
* Understanding of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working complexities.
* Up-to-date knowledge of adult psychiatry, including awareness of current issues in mental health service provision, policy, and legislation.
