Based in Penshurst, Kent, the role supports a fast-paced company behind Commando UK and the Castle Race Series — one of the UK’s leading triathlon and multisport series, with events held at magnificent castles across the UK, France, and Ireland. 6 event weekends feature competitions across seven disciplines including triathlon, duathlon, aquabike, aquathlon, swim, cycle, run and obstacle. With 29 distances available, from starter to full iron, our events provide a unique and inclusive racing experience. Role Description This is a full-time role for a Marketing and Communications Manager, located in Penshurst with some work from home acceptable. The Marketing and Communications Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies, managing social media accounts, creating promotional materials, and coordinating marketing campaigns. Additional responsibilities include overseeing public relations efforts, conducting market research, and evaluating the effectiveness of marketing initiatives. This role is ideal for a highly organised, proactive, and adaptable individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about sport and live events. You'll work closely with the Race Director, Operations, Registration, and Customer Services teams — playing a key role in shaping and delivering campaigns, driving participation, and building meaningful relationships with partners, sponsors, and participants. Qualifications · Proven experience in marketing strategy, campaign planning, and performance analysis · Excellent communication skills — written and verbal — with strong copywriting ability · Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) · Hands-on experience with WordPress, SEO, Google analytics and content marketing · Strong knowledge of email marketing tools and automation workflows · Experience with paid advertising (Meta, Google Ads, LinkedIn, etc.) · Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail and time management · Positive, collaborative attitude with the ability to work across multiple departments and suppliers · Budget management and procurement experience · A full driving licence and access to a car is essential · A genuine interest in sports, fitness, and live events
