Pay Range: $560,000.00 – $700,000.00
THE POSITION
Reporting to the Department Chair, the Division Director of Gynecologic Oncology is the physician head of the academic, clinical, research, and educational programs for the Gynecologic Oncology Faculty of the Department. As chief of the Gynecologic Oncology service, the Division Director will build the strengths of the division and its current programs to develop and strengthen its clinical and academic operations, including research initiatives. The Division Director will work with the Chair, Cancer Center leadership, and the department leadership team to develop a multi-year plan aligned with the Department, the College of Medicine and its NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, and the Medical Center’s strategic vision and goals.
THE CANDIDATE
The candidate is expected to demonstrate leadership, accountability, and critical thinking. The role requires outstanding clinical care for surgical and chemotherapy cases, a history of clinical or translational research with grant funding, and a commitment to education for fellows, residents, and medical students. The ideal candidate may be nationally recognized in clinical or translational research and should be board-certified in Gynecologic Oncology with at least Associate or Professor level academic achievement.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Education: Understand and collaborate with the Fellowship Director and Division members regarding policies of the Medical College/Center and regulatory requirements of the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology and ACGME; ensure educational program objectives and opportunities for all trainees.
* Clinical: Prioritize patient satisfaction and safety; ensure coverage for all Division clinical activities at all sites, including call and emergency coverage; manage clinical workload distribution in line with designated effort expectations.
* Administrative: Ensure compliance with Department/Institutional regulations and policies; maintain effective communication through standard channels; promote faculty development and performance management; foster professionalism within the Division.
