Here at Serco, we are looking for experienced Electricians to carry out planned and reactive electrical and some mechanical maintenance on site. The Maintenance Craftsperson (Electrical) - shift will undertake minor improvements and capital works as directed by Estates management. Responsibilities include responding to out-of-hours reactive requests via Help Desk, undertaking planned preventative maintenance, and working as part of a multi-skilled team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Respond to reactive maintenance requests and escalate as needed.
2. Perform planned preventative maintenance according to schedule, recording actions.
3. Carry out electrical, mechanical, and building maintenance within competence levels.
4. Interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
5. Manage building systems, including adjusting environmental controls.
6. Install electrical equipment and circuitry.
7. Diagnose and repair electrical faults.
8. Respond to fire alarms and assist in emergency procedures.
9. Understand lift operations and coordinate safe release procedures.
10. Respond promptly to plant alarms and resolve issues.
11. Complete training relevant to the role, such as becoming a Competent Person.
Candidate Requirements:
* Recognized Electrical Apprenticeship or equivalent training.
* Level 3 NVQ or Diploma, 18th Edition BS7671.
* Experience in a similar environment.
* Knowledge of Electrical Building Services.
* Good communication and customer service skills.
* Disability Confident status is a plus.
Details:
* Full-time, permanent, 37.5 hours/week.
* 8-week rotating shift cycle (days and nights).
