Overview
As a key member of the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, you will be joining an exceptional team working together to help patients stay healthy when they need it most. This is a fixed‑term full‑time DCT level Trust Grade Doctor in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with potential to extend beyond September 2026.
The Trust employs over 15,000 staff, providing emergency, specialist and general medical services across North Devon District Hospital, Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital (Wonford) and peripheral hospitals in Barnstaple, Tiverton, Exmouth, Honiton and Axminster.
Working Pattern
1:6 on‑call commitment with on‑call weekend and an available on‑call room in the hospital residences.
Responsibilities
* Provide clinical sessions per week in Exeter, including new referral and follow‑up clinics.
* Conduct supervised treatments under local anaesthetic, intravenous sedation and general anaesthetic (in‑patient or day case) under the supervision of Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons.
* Collaborate with the Department of Orthodontics for joint clinics held monthly.
* Fulfil the current 1:6 non‑resident first‑on‑call commitment for the post.
Qualifications
* Experienced trainee at DCT level or above.
* Completed MJDF (or equivalent) or dual‑qualified in medicine and dentistry.
* Planning a career in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
* Priority and ‘At Risk’ NHS staff status are preferred.
