Administrative Support Officer (Civil Disclosure)
Location: Headquarters, Northallerton, some opportunity for Hybrid working
Contract: Fixed Term contract to end July 2026, Contractually employed by NYP
Hours: Part-time, 18.5 hours per week over 5 days
Salary: Scale 2-3, Pro-rata’d: £11,643-£12,813
(£23,286-£25,626 for full time hours at 37 hours per week)

Our Support Service functions work in collaboration across North Yorkshire Police and Evolve Legal Services, providing vital shared expertise to deliver efficient and effective service to our communities.
The Opportunity
The Evolve Legal Services Department provides comprehensive in-house legal services to both the Chief Constable and the Police & Crime Commissioner. Our key services include legal advice on corporate, public, and employment law, police operational law, handling litigation, managing legal risks, and providing civil disclosure law services.
As an Administration Assistant within our Civil Disclosure team, you will support the Freedom of Information, Data Protection, and civil and regulatory disclosure work. This role demands high accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and national guidance.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain an understanding in the relevant legislation and procedural guidelines.
* Provide administrative support for Data Protection Subject Access and Freedom of Information requests.
* Manage the Civil Disclosure email inbox and log requests accurately.
* Ensure proper records management and retention of disclosure information.
* Handle routine telephone inquiries professionally.
* Collate performance-related statistics for internal and national reporting.
* Maintain business continuity backups.
* Organize room bookings, meetings, travel, and courses for the Civil Disclosure Unit.
* Perform general administrative tasks, including copying, scanning, filing, and documentation delivery.
What We’re Looking For
* Excellent IT skills, particularly in MS Office.
* Strong communication skills and a collaborative team player.

* Experience working in a confidential environment.
* Experience of working with the public.
* Administrative experience within the Police.
