About the Role

As a Head of Inclusive Learning and Student Support with EKC Training, you will lead and develop an inclusive support service that enables learners with additional needs to achieve their full potential, both within education and in the workplace. You will oversee the day‑to‑day management of the provision, ensuring high‑quality support is embedded across study programmes, apprenticeships, and training opportunities, contributing positively to learner success, wellbeing, independence and progression.

Working closely with curriculum teams, employers, support staff, parents/carers and external agencies, you will help create inclusive learning and working environments where learners feel supported and empowered to succeed. You will lead and develop a dedicated team, promote high standards of practice, and ensure support strategies are responsive to the individual needs of learners across a range of settings.

You will also play a key role in driving continuous improvement across the provision, ensuring Inclusive Learning Support remains learner‑focused, effective and aligned to EKC Training’s commitment to inclusion, opportunity and student success.

Benefits

* Generous Annual Leave – 38 days FTE per annum
* Competitive Pension Scheme – 28 % employer contribution
* Learning and Development Opportunities – 3–4 annual paid group development days and bespoke programmes (e.g. Senior Leadership Development Programme and strong internal progression; 1 in 3 roles are filled internally)
* Culture and Recognition – Being part of Community Days, an Annual Staff Celebration Day, and an eco‑friendly organisation dedicated to reaching net‑zero by 2030
* Wellbeing and Health Support – Generous sick pay, health checks, free flu jabs, free eye tests, glasses vouchers, flexible support for medical appointments and return‑to‑work support
* Exclusive Discounts & Perks – Inc. restaurant, grocery, retail and holidays discounts as well as car leasing and tech purchasing schemes
* Flexible Personal Leave – Time off for your child’s first day at nursery or school, moving homes and for interviews

About You

We are seeking an enthusiastic and forward‑thinking Head of Inclusive Learning and Student Support to lead and develop high‑quality support for learners with a wide range of additional needs across both education and workplace settings.

You will bring experience of supporting learners with special educational needs within education, training or apprenticeship environments, alongside a strong understanding of Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP) processes and provision. A teaching qualification would be advantageous, as would experience of leading or managing a team.

With a collaborative and proactive approach, you will be confident in inspiring and developing staff, driving high standards, and creating inclusive learning and working environments where learners can thrive. You will also be skilled in working with employers, curriculum teams and support staff to ensure learners receive the tailored support they need to succeed, progress and develop independence throughout their training journey.

It is a criminal offence to apply for a post which involves regulated activity relevant to children if you are barred from doing so.

Commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

We are particularly keen to increase the diversity of our staff body and encourage applications from candidates where there is under‑representation. We proudly hold the Positive About Disability Award and are a Disability Confident Employer. We commit to interviewing all applicants who declare a disability and have declared it on their application, and exploring any reasonable adjustments to a role due to health needs or disability.

We also commit to Care Leavers (Care Covenant Pledge) and current or previous Armed Forces personnel (Armed Forces Covenant Pledge), and interview applicants who meet essential criteria. We welcome applications from anyone wishing to work flexibly or those considering a return to work from a career break.
