The Role
As a Sous Chef at Phyllis Court Club, you will assist the Head Chef in the running of the Kitchen and ensure work is carried out to the best of its ability with respect to Health & Hygiene Laws, as well as the organising and training of team members.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Head Chef in day-to-day kitchen operations
* Maintain high standards of health and hygiene in line with regulations
* Organise and train kitchen team members
* Contribute to delivering exceptional dishes in a timely manner
* Lead, supervise and motivate the team; provide day-to-day direction
* Ensure consistent, high-quality service and teamwork
* Support cost and budget management as required
Essential Qualifications
* Passionate about working in hospitality
* Previous experience as a Sous Chef in a busy kitchen
* Strong communication skills; ability to motivate and lead the team
* Proven track record of delivering exceptional dishes under pressure
* Experience in leading, supervising and training a team
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Commitment to maintaining high service standards
* Ability to work as part of a team to deliver fresh dishes
* Aspiring to learn and develop
* Experience in managing costs and budgets
* Knowledge of EHO requirements and ensuring team compliance
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Proof of right to work in the UK
