We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 1 Teacher to join a warm, supportive primary school in Edgbaston, Birmingham. This is a full-time role available immediately, continuing through to the end of the academic year in July 2026 .
What We’re Looking For
* QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent
* Experience teaching in KS1, ideally Year 1
* Strong understanding of phonics (e.g., Read Write Inc., Letters and Sounds, or equivalent)
* Ability to create an engaging, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
* Excellent classroom management and communication skills
* Someone adaptable, proactive, and committed to pupil development
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver high-quality lessons aligned with the Year 1 curriculum
* Support children’s social, emotional, and academic growth
* Track progress and maintain accurate assessments
* Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and wider staff
* Communicate effectively with parents and carers
* Contribute positively to the school community
