Family and Systemic Psychotherapist - Development role

Are you looking for a family therapy development role with career progression? If so, we have the ideal team to gain experience with!

We're seeking someone to join the Buckinghamshire Young People's Eating Disorder Service, as a Newly Qualified Family and Systemic Psychotherapist where you will deliver a high-quality, comprehensive mental health service for children, young people, and their families experiencing mental health and eating disorder challenges.

As a newly qualified or developing Family Therapist you will be working within an experienced team, where you will work alongside and be supported by a Consultant Family Psychotherapist. We will support you to develop from a Band 7 to a Band 8a Family and Systemic Psychotherapist.

You will join a well-established, highly skilled and friendly team to work within. The team prides itself in its positive culture and well-functioning multidisciplinary team (MDT) way of working. NICE concordant treatments, including family-based treatments are at the forefront of our practice. The team consists of clinicians from a range of specialisms including psychology, nursing, dietetics, occupational therapy family therapy and psychiatry.

This team is regularly complimented on its high level of expertise, commitment to patient care and its fun and friendly culture.

Main duties of the job

* Delivering family-based treatment and family and systemic psychotherapy to young people and families
* The assessment and treatment of young people with a range of eating disorder presentations.
* Maintaining a systemic perspective of the young people we see in context and usingsystemic skills such as systemic formulation to aid the evidence-based treatment we offer.

The ability to travel independently between sites within the Trust is essential for this role.

Person Specification


Qualifications

* Postgraduate qualification in family and systemic psychotherapy
* Registration as a systemic psychotherapist with UKCP or equivalent body
* Post graduate qualification in a relevant field of mental health or social welfare (or established equivalence according to AFT criteria)


Knowledge

* Specialist knowledge and application of family therapy assessment, interventions and family therapy process relevant to client group
* Knowledge of evidence based in relation to child mental health
* Knowledge and application of standardised assessments and outcome measures


Experience

* Experience of assessment / intervention with children, young people and families in a mental health or equivalent setting
* Experience of maintaining a caseload
* Participation in teaching or training
* Research and audit experience and skills
* Experience of running/co running groups.
* Experience of working in a multi-cultural framework
