Join Our Team as a Recovery Support Worker!
At Turning Point, we believe that every individual has a unique Turning Point—a moment when they take a small yet significant step forward. With your support, these moments can lead to transformative journeys. As a passionate Recovery Support Worker, you will play a vital role in helping individuals regain control of their lives, enhance their quality of life, and face the future with renewed confidence.
We are excited to welcome a dedicated Recovery Support Worker to our new team at Sunningdale House. This high-support housing service is designed for individuals with enduring mental health challenges, featuring 6 en-suite rooms and a comprehensive recovery and rehabilitation package.
Your mission? To empower our service users by assessing their ongoing needs, building on their existing skills, and introducing new ones. Each service user will have a dedicated Support Worker, ensuring personalized care and support through key work sessions, community outings, and practical assistance in their daily lives.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Recovery Support Worker, you will provide recovery-focused support tailored to each service user's unique needs. Your skills in positive communication and engagement will be essential as you demonstrate unconditional positive regard for those you support.
You'll work collaboratively with the service user's support network to help them achieve their life goals in a healthy and fulfilling way.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Providing guidance and support to service users
* Assisting with medication management
* Maintaining daily records and writing incident reports
* Facilitating group activities
* Helping to onboard new staff members
* Ensuring cleanliness and adherence to infection control measures
This role requires flexibility, as you will work on a roster basis that includes office hours, evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
Are You the Ideal Candidate?
While previous experience in the mental health sector is a plus, what truly matters is your genuine desire to support individuals in their recovery journey. We are looking for compassionate, proactive, and professional individuals who are motivated to assist service users with mental health and complex care needs.
Key qualities we seek include:
* A can-do attitude and a commitment to supporting individuals in crisis
* Strong communication skills to connect with people from diverse backgrounds
* The ability to work within a positive framework and deliver person-centered, non-judgmental support
We also value the unique skills and interests you can bring to the role—whether it's sports, arts and crafts, music, or cooking!
