Hours – 40 hours per week, 7am start
Location & Postcode – Havering, RM12 5BF
As a Loader you will help ensure services are carried out in accordance with the Borough Council’s contract specifications, working within Health and Safety legislative requirements and ensuring compliance with FCC Quality and Environmental procedures.
This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week.

What will you be doing?
•Carry out residential bin and bagged waste collections and removal
•Follow all safety instructions and always wear designated personal protective equipment (PPE)
•Keep vehicles and equipment safe
•Lift and move heavy bins onto vehicles and undertake a significant amount of walking
•Collect general waste, recyclables, organics and bulky waste from houses, flats, shops, schools and Council buildings
•Maintain service standards and support continuous improvement
•Use safe manual handling techniques and follow safe systems of work
•Report accidents, incidents and defects to a Supervisor
•Separate waste by type and unload correctly at disposal sites
•Clear spillages, report problems, and report uncompleted work at the end of the day
•Assist drivers in ensuring vehicles are not overloaded
•Carry out duties in a courteous, clean and efficient manner
What are we looking for?
•Physically fit and able to carry out manual handling tasks
•Highly motivated with a good work ethic
•Positive attitude and ability to work independently and as part of a team
•Able to work safely at all times
•Honest and trustworthy
•Desirable: experience in the waste industry and knowledge of Health & Safety and manual handling
