Job Summary
Bridge View Medical seeks a Treatment Room Nurse to join a friendly and supportive practice located in South Bristol, close to the bustling harbourside and vibrant North Street. The role is part of a primary care network with 5 sites and a patient population of approximately 39,000. The appointment is permanent and part‑time, flexible working – 17 hours per week (8:30–17:30) on two days of the worker’s choice between Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Responsibilities
Provide nursing care to patients in partnership with GPs or independently, working to agreed protocols.
* Vaccinations, including paediatric certification an advantage.
* Wound care management – compression bandaging in line with current evidence‑based guidelines.
* Ear irrigation and routine immunisations under a Patient Group Direction.
* Cervical screening.
* Management of long‑term conditions such as asthma, COPD and diabetes.
* Contraceptive pill checks and sexual health support.
* Provide emergency care and attend annual Basic Life Support and anaphylaxis training.
* Chaperone patients undergoing examination, as appropriate.
* Collect, store and dispatch pathological specimens, including intravenous blood samples and swabs, ensuring equipment cleanliness as per policy.
* Assist in implementation and management of health and safety and infection control policies.
* Contribute to stock and medicines management, including ordering and vaccine handling.
* Recognise and adapt to individual needs and preferences of colleagues and service users.
* Ensure completion of mandatory training and maintain up‑to‑date qualifications.

* Experience within a Primary health care setting.
* Experience in resource or medicine management.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
* Use of clinical systems software such as EMIS.
* Experience working with Patient Group Directions.
* Experience in mentoring student nurses.
* Qualifications and experience in the management of long‑term conditions such as asthma, COPD and diabetes.
* Knowledge of clinical governance issues in Primary Care.
* Knowledge of local and national health policy and the wider health economy.
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse with current NMC PIN (essential).
* Evidence of continuing professional development (essential).
* Qualifications and experience in managing long‑term conditions such as asthma, COPD and diabetes (desirable).
Skills & Knowledge
* Excellent communication skills, able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team (essential).
* Enthusiastic and motivated to learn new clinical skills when not currently trained (essential).

Additional Information
Salary: £18.70 to £21.18 an hour, depending on experience. The position is temporary‑to‑permanent and part‑time, with 17 hours per week. The closing date for applications is 14 June 2026.
