Job Description
Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support one of our specialist partner schools in the Cramlington area (NE23).
About the Role
You will be working within a well-established specialist provision supporting pupils aged 4–18 with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and associated learning difficulties.
The setting offers a structured, nurturing environment with a strong emphasis on emotional development, behaviour support, and personalised learning approaches. You will work closely with teaching staff and the SENCo to support pupils both academically and socially, helping them to achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored one-to-one and small group support
* Adapt learning activities to meet individual pupil needs
* Support emotional regulation and behaviour using consistent strategies
* Follow EHCPs and individual support plans to promote progress
* Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
* Use visual supports, sensory strategies, and structured routines
* Monitor and record pupil progress and feedback to staff
* Support during transitions, breaktimes, and daily routines
* Encourage independence, confidence, and social development

Requirements
* Willing to complete an enhanced DBS check (or hold one on the update service)
* Able to provide two professional references
* Right to work in the UK
