The role
Our client is a growing specialist contractor delivering end-to-end building remediation and maintenance services across residential and commercial properties throughout the UK. Working in partnership with housing associations, local authorities, and private sector clients, we manage projects from initial survey through to completed works, with a strong focus on quality, compliance, and client service.
As they continue to grow, they are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts / Finance Administrator to join the team on a part-time basis.
The Role
This is a hands-on, varied finance administration role supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts in and out, and ensuring the smooth running of billing and payment processes.
Working 3 days per week (09:00–17:00), this role is fully office based at their Harefield site.
Key Responsibilities
* Processing and managing accounts receivable, raising invoices, chasing outstanding payments, and reconciling customer accounts
* Managing accounts payable, processing supplier invoices, scheduling payments, and maintaining supplier records
* Monitoring payment due dates and flagging any overdue or upcoming obligations
* Bank reconciliations and general bookkeeping
* Processing staff expenses and ensuring claims are submitted and approved in line with company policy
* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records
* Supporting month-end processes and providing financial summaries as required
* Liaising with internal teams, clients, and suppliers to resolve any invoice or payment queries
* General finance administration as required by the business
Skills & Experience
Essential:
* Proven experience in a finance administration, accounts assistant, or bookkeeping role
* Solid understanding of accounts receivable and payable processes
* Confident working with accounting software (e.g. Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar)
* Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
* Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
* Clear and professional communication skills
Desirable (not essential):
* Experience working within a property maintenance, construction, or building services environment
* Familiarity with project-based or contract billing
* AAT qualification or equivalent (part or fully qualified)

Salary: £30,000 – £34,000 FTE (pro rata to 3 days per week), dependent on experience
