Job Introduction

From 1 December 2025, our refreshed Pay and Reward package comes into effect, bringing a new approach to how we recognise and reward roles across the Council. This means the salary for this role will be changing.

The pay range for this role will be £31,537 - £36,363 p.a. (pro rata for part time colleagues) from 1 December 2025.

Supported Lodgings Worker - 12-month fixed term post

We are excited to announce a position to join our Fostering and Supported Lodgings Service as a Supported Lodgings Worker. This full-time, 12-month fixed term position is part of our Supported Lodgings Service, which is currently registering with Ofsted to provide young people aged 16-18 year with the opportunity to live in a home environment with supported Lodging Hosts

As a Supported Lodgings Worker, you will play a crucial role in helping young people transition to independent living. You will work closely with our Supported Lodgings Hosts to ensure that young people receive the guidance and support they need during this important phase of their lives.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assess, recruit, and support, Supported Lodgings Hosts, ensuring they meet statutory and local authority standards.
* Conduct regular supervision visits and provide ongoing support to Hosts, offering advice and guidance on how best to meet the needs of the young people in their care.
* Develop and implement individual care plans that support the well-being and development of young people in supported lodging homes.
* Work collaboratively with young people's Social Workers, Personal Advisors, health professionals, education staff, and other agencies to provide a holistic and coordinated approach to care.
* Attend and contribute to placement reviews, case meetings, and multi-agency discussions to ensure the best outcomes for young people.
* Ensure all records are accurate, up-to-date, and comply with statutory requirements and BCP policies.
* Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance your knowledge of fostering and supported lodgings regulations, support strategies, and best practice.
* To keep up to date with all of relevant policies and procedures relating to Children's Services in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole

About You:

We are looking for a dedicated and young person-focused individual who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people. The ideal candidate will have:

* Experience working with young people, particularly those transitioning to independent living.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* The ability to work collaboratively with hosts and other professionals.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
