⭐About The Role
Teaching Personnel is seeking a resilient and dedicated Classroom SEN Support Assistant to join a specialist ASD school in Newport, supporting pupils aged 4–19 with Autism and associated learning needs.
This well‑equipped school offers an inspiring environment with fantastic facilities including independent living skills areas, a Rebound Therapy room, Soft Play and Sensory Rooms, Forest School spaces, and bespoke classrooms.
Pupils enjoy an exciting mix of activities—swimming, athletics and Rebound Therapy—alongside therapeutic support such as Music, Pet and Yoga Therapy, plus regular input from Occupational Therapists and Speech & Language Therapists. It’s an amazing setting to get involved in and support, where every day gives you the chance to make a real difference.

⭐Key Responsibilities
* Support children and young people with SEN/ALN and challenging behaviours
* Deliver tailored 1:1 and small‑group support
* Help pupils access the curriculum through personalised interventions
* Use effective behaviour management and de‑escalation strategies
* Promote engagement, confidence, and emotional development
* Assist with mobility, sensory, and physical support needs

✅Candidate Requirements
* Experience working with children or individuals with SEN, or transferable experience from care, youth support, or similar roles
* Must be 18+
* EWC registration (or willingness to obtain — we can help!)
* Enhanced Child & Adult DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain)
* Level 2 Safeguarding training
* At least two professional references covering 24 months
