Our client, a rapidly growing energy supplier, is looking for a Demand Forecasting Manager to lead a team of two Forecasting Analysts. As the Demand Forecasting Manager, you will be responsible for managing volumetric risk related to gas and power demand, as well as reviewing and approving both short- and long-term daily demand forecasts. Key responsibilities for the Demand Forecasting Manager:
* Lead, support, and performance-manage a team of two Demand Forecasting Analysts.
* Review and approve short and long-term demand forecasts for gas and power.
* Continuously improve forecasting models, systems, and team capability across all energy products.
* Monitor performance to ensure high forecast accuracy and meet key targets like MAPE and imbalance.
* Develop models to analyse customer behaviour, including churn, demand shifts, and product movement.
* Manage weather data contracts and support Trading, Finance, and Regulatory teams with insights and planning.
Skills and experience required for the Demand Forecasting Manager:
* Deep expertise in gas and power forecasting (domestic or commercial).
* Strong understanding of energy wholesale markets and commodity risk.
* Proven leadership and performance management skills in a team environment.
* Background in mathematics/statistics with advanced modelling capabilities (SQL, VBA, Python).
* Excellent stakeholder engagement, organisational, and planning skills.
* Solid understanding of industry processes, regulatory frameworks, and key market participants.

Salary: £55,000 - £85,000 DOE plus 10% bonus
