Our client is a leading organisation based in the City of London, seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to take full ownership of their payroll function. You will oversee UK and European payrolls and manage one direct report, ensuring smooth andpliant payroll operations.
Your new role
As Payroll Manager, you will take ownership of the end-to-end monthly payroll process across UK and European payrolls. You’ll ensure accurate and timely pay runs, maintain statutorypliance, and act as the subject-matter expert for payroll queries. Key responsibilities include:
1. Managing relationships with external payroll providers
2. Partnering with HR and Tax teams to ensure correct processing of benefits andpensation
3. Posting payroll journals, accruals, and reconciliations
4. Leading year-end processes including P11Ds and statutory reporting
5. Driving continuous improvement in payroll processes and system integrations
6. Managing and developing a Payroll Analyst
What you'll need to succeed
7. Proven experience managing UK and European payrolls
8. Strong knowledge of payroll legislation andpliance requirements
9. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
10. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and external providers
11. Experience with payroll systems and process improvement initiatives
12. Leadership experience with team development
13. Sage experience
