Job Title: Regulatory Affairs Specialist, nutrition & food supplements
Job Type: Permanent position
Location: East Midlands, UK (Hybrid) – 3x a week on-site
This is an excellent opportunity to join a global manufacturer and supplier of health products, combining decades of expertise, quality ingredients, and product innovation to provide world-leading nutritional supplements for all. With only being 5 years old, they have rapidly outgrown its start-up roots to become a key player in the British health and wellness sector.
The business is currently looking for a Regulatory Affairs Specialist to join the team and support Regulatory Affairs activities. This role requires a meticulous, proactive professional to navigate the complexities of regulatory compliance for food supplements in both UK and EU. You will act as a bridge between regulatory frameworks and internal stakeholders.
The responsibilities will include:
* Provide detailed regulatory guidance and technical support for internal stakeholders.
* Monitor regulatory changes and ensure timely updates to business practices.
* Coordinate and manage product approvals (SIPS/MIPS) and schedule updates with the Soil Association, via email and the SA online portal.
* Manage label creation, review, and updates, ensuring compliance with UK and EU regulations.
* Coordinate translation projects for labelling and marketing materials.
* Approve printer’s proofs and monitor artwork through the InMotion system.
* Validate compliance of formulas in the UK and EU, label copy, and front-panel claims for new product launches.
* Check claims against health and nutrition claims regulations and industry guidelines.
* Oversee sales banners and front-panel compliance.
* Provide technical advice on Products of Animal Origin (POAO) and composite goods.
* Support import and export logistics by providing commodity codes.
Requirements
* University degree in Law, Biomedical science, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
* At least 3 years+ of experience working in regulatory affairs within foods, consumer health, nutrition, or a highly regulated industry.
* Previous experience working in a regulatory role dedicated to nutrition/food and beverage industry.
* A strong communicator confident in driving strategies and working with senior internal and external stakeholders.
* Experience interacting with food standards agencies, trade associations, or other relevant authorities.
* Previous line management experience is highly desirable.
This role requires someone who can multi-task multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision. The business is seeking an individual with excellent communication skills, attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and motivation.
The role will require 3 days on-site per week, but flexibility can be offered for the right candidate.
