Job Overview
Senior Cook at BCUHB Central Catering Services (Glan Clwyd Hospital). Responsible for ensuring high‑standard food preparation, safe compliance, and efficient kitchen operations while leading staff.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee daily kitchen operations, including rostering and supervision of catering staff.
* Conduct food safety audits and ensure compliance with health & safety regulations.
* Manage stock control, support procurement processes, and maintain accurate inventory.
* Plan menus, review and improve service delivery, and drive continuous improvement.
* Conduct staff performance appraisals, provide training, and lead staff meetings as required.
* Lead sickness management and annual review meetings and participate in internal staff meetings.
Qualifications & Experience
Qualifications are listed under Essential and Desirable criteria and include:
* Food safety knowledge.
* Experience in a catering department.
* Administration and IT skills.
* Flexible approach to work.
Desirable:
* Level 4 Managing Food Safely qualification.
* Experience running a busy kitchen.
* Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Outlook.
* Supervision or management experience.
Additional Requirements
* Welsh language ability desirable; English or Welsh speakers welcome.
