Are you able to work weekends 23 hours per week and looking for a role where you can make a difference to a young person's life? YMCA Robin Hood Group, based in Nottingham City Centre, is looking for responsible, trustworthy and compassionate people to join our Support Housing team to oversee the smooth running of our building and provide residents with support and care.
You will be part of our Housing Duty Workers, the first point of contact for many residents, helping with needs and ensuring the building runs smoothly.

Responsibilities
* Provide advice and assistance to residents
* Provide keys/replacements where needed
* Collect rent payments and handle queries or charges relating to rent
* Ensure residents understand their tenant obligations and rights under the License Agreement
* Take payments
* Provide first aid
* Respond to fire alarms
* Be the first point of contact for incidents, including emergencies; liaise with police and other agencies to prevent damage or harm
* Crises management and incident reporting
* Undertake facilities/domestic duties to maintain the upkeep of the building if needed
* Assist prospective residents with applications and signpost to other agencies as appropriate
Shift pattern and hours
Working 23 hours per week across weekends. Shift patterns: Friday 11pm-11am; Saturday 11pm-11am. Our weekday Housing Duty Workers handle weekday coverage, with overtime optional.
Qualifications and requirements
* Experience or interest in working in supported housing with vulnerable adults and young people aged 16-24
* Willingness to receive training and development to start a career in Housing
* Understanding of the needs of young people (aged 16-25) who may have drug, alcohol and other issues
* Ability to deal confidently with difficult situations and manage conflict appropriately
* Desire or experience in social work, youth work, housing, drug and alcohol services, rehabilitation, sociology, security, etc.
* Ability to work with minimal supervision, use initiative, and work as part of a team
* Ability to respond quickly and effectively to emergencies
* Ability to manage conflict and diffuse situations; excellent communication skills
* Ability to form and maintain professional boundaries and be a positive role model for residents
