Key Responsibilities:
1. Carrying out First Article Mechanical Inspections of aerospace industry component parts and sub-assemblies to the AS9102 standard
2. Finalizing First Article Inspection Reports, recording the data on MRP computer system. Develop and maintain electronic file system
3. Managing and controlling equipment calibration.
4. Supporting business processes and personnel in continuous improvement activities in addition to providing information concerning product and process quality performance
5. Liaising with suppliers to resolve customer issues, promoting customer confidence and satisfaction
6. Supporting the New Product Introduction process through quality planning and implementation, liaising with internal functions and suppliers
7. Ensuring all quality data is captured and analysed against targets taking action on adverse variation to standard
Required Skills & Experience:
8. CMM Experience desired. Use of the MCOSMOS software is an advantage. The suitable candidate will have a strong quality and / or aerospace background gained within medium to high volume manufacturing
9. Competent in the use of handheld measuring (Verniers, Height Gauge, Micrometers) and reading and understanding drawing requirements including geometrical tolerances
10. Continuous Improvement and 5S Mindset
11. Able to read, understand and interpret engineering information
12. Effective communicator at all levels both verbal and written
13. Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
14. IT literate – Effective use of Microsoft Office software; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access
15. The ideal candidate should have experience and intermediate knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Access etc) Experience of MRP Systems
16. Technical Skills / Competencies
17. Working knowledge of AS9102
18. The ideal candidate will be responsible for all FAI (First Article inspection) and repeat work in a machine shop environment
19. Follow and promote AS9102 standards
Preferred Skills & Experience:
20. Aerospace manufacturing industry experience is desirable – a minimum of 2yrs in a machine shop is essential.
21. Continuous Improvement and LEAN Manufacturing experience is desirable.
