About the Role
Teaching Technician within the School of Veterinary Medicine and Science. Supports delivery of practical teaching, especially in STEM and dissection‑based environments.
Responsibilities include:
* Prepare and clear teaching labs and preparation areas for dissection and cadaver surgery classes.
* Maintain stock levels, complete cadaver transport and storage documentation, assist with collections from abattoirs and clinical associate practices.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation across teaching spaces, operate laundry facilities, conduct routine equipment checks, safely dispose of clinical and biohazard waste, perform occasional PAT testing.
* Provide cover in live animal and clinical teaching areas when required.
About You
Qualifications & experience:
* Minimum GCSE Maths and English (grade C/4 or above) or equivalent, or relevant work experience.
* Understanding of basic biology/anatomy and experience working with various animal species.
* Basic IT skills, good communication and teamwork abilities.
* Manual handling capability, willingness to lift and move equipment, and a full driving licence for travelling to abattoirs and practices.
* Willingness to undertake occasional weekend overtime where teaching schedules require.
