As a result of organisation growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Delivery to join our senior team on a full time, permanent basis. Working from our regional Head Office in Telford, the Head of Delivery will hold accountability for ensuring operational excellence across all service areas within the Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin (STW) locality, including base site management, medicines governance, controlled drugs compliance, mobile fleet coordination, and call centre operations.
The Head of Delivery will be fully accountable for delivering high-quality patient care, ensuring rigorous compliance with healthcare regulations, and providing effective leadership to diverse teams. The postholder will be adept at working under pressure, balancing competing priorities, and making clear, timely and informed decisions in fast paced and often challenging situations. Our ideal candidate will be a visible, proactive, and hands on leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and delivers high standards across all service areas. They will bring substantial leadership experience within a regulated health or social care setting, with a proven ability to lead teams through change, improve performance, and uphold governance expectations. A strong working knowledge of patient management systems, such as Adastra or similar, is essential, alongside the ability to use data, operational insight, and sound judgement to deliver safe, effective, and resilient services.
About you
As an experienced senior Operations Manager, the postholder will demonstrate exceptional capability and confidence in leading complex operational environments. They will be fully accountable for delivering high-quality patient care, ensuring rigorous compliance with healthcare regulations, and providing effective leadership to diverse teams. The postholder will be adept at working under pressure, balancing competing priorities, and making clear, timely and informed decisions in fast paced and often challenging situations. With the confidence and capability to lead complex, multi‑site healthcare environments, you will be able to demonstrate:
* Accountability for delivering high standards of patient care and operational resilience
* Expertise in navigating regulated healthcare settings and adhering to compliance expectations
* Strong leadership of diverse teams across clinical, non‑clinical and remote environments
* Calm, informed decision‑making in fast‑paced, high‑pressure situations
* Proactive, visible leadership, with the ability to inspire trust, maintain professional standards and embed a positive culture
* Experience driving improvement through data-driven insight, performance metrics and operational intelligence
* Advanced working knowledge of Adastra or other patient management systems
About the role
The Head of Delivery will provide line management to Operational Team Leads, offering professional leadership and oversight not only to direct reports but also to the wider Urgent Care Team. You will be instrumental in fostering a culture of accountability, resilience, and excellence across all service areas. You will also provide operational management and support across the region, maintaining a regular physical presence across all areas of the STW Out of Hours Service.
