A larger-than-average primary school in Liverpool City Centre is seeking to appoint a Trainee Teaching Assistant for one of its KS1 classrooms.

What will the trainee be doing as part of their role?
As a Trainee Teaching Assistant in KS1, you will support teachers in preparing lessons and help create a safe, engaging learning environment for all pupils during this crucial stage of their primary education. During lessons, you will work alongside the class teacher to assist pupils with classroom activities, help manage behaviour, and promote independence and learning. Strong communication skills and enthusiasm are essential to support pupils in progressing, achieving, and overcoming challenges. You will assist across all areas of the curriculum, including English, mathematics, and science.

Summary of Role and Expectations:
* Support pupils, ensuring their safety and access to learning.
* Encourage pupils to act independently where appropriate.
* Prepare the classroom for lessons and clear away afterwards.
* Assist the teacher in managing pupil behaviour, reporting any difficulties.
* Support pupils in understanding lesson instructions.
* Assist pupils with the school curriculum (e.g., English, mathematics), as directed by the teacher.
* Supervise pupils during lunchtimes.
* Comply with all policies and procedures relating to child protection, equality and diversity, health and safety, security, confidentiality, and data protection, reporting any concerns to the appropriate person.

The Role:
* Hours: 08:30 – 15:30, Monday to Friday
* Includes a 30-minute welfare duty
* Open to individuals currently studying a TA/CACHE/Childcare qualification
* Pay: £13.75 per hour

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
